Practice, practice, practice! Start doing Leaving Cert papers early and do as many extra questions as possible! For the oral, start building up a notebook of answers, watch french news reels online.....I have notes if you need and more tips!
id have to agree with ronyag for the oral make sure your answers are long not just a couple of words and dont mention anything you dont want to talk about (but do cover these areas) if your smart about it you spend the whole oral talking about want you want also try to use different tense. you can also use the stuff you learn for the oral in the writting . but make sure you do loads of question
i love french and i can tell you how to do well. for the written part of the exam, work on the papers, build up your vocab. depends what kind of teacher you have, but any new word you come across, put it in a vocab hardback. for the oral, prepare long answers to the questions in an oral notebook. you might wanna leave a few pages after each topic, because your teacher will give you good phrases to use and it will improve your answer, memorize your answers, and say them out loud in front of a mirror. for the aural, watch euronews in french, if you have the channel. seriously, this will boost your listening, you don't have to understand everything, but if you can keep up and hear a few words, you'll do really well in the actual l.c. aural. listen to the news regularly and you'll boost up your skills.
Cool phrase! "le hasard vouloir que + subjunctive" = "as luck would have it". EG. "Le hasard veut qu'il parte avant moi" = "As luck would have it, he is leaving before me"....view answers
i had the same exam as @EimearOD, the other 90 mark question was on media, then there was a question on kids spending their time in front of the tv, a question on religion and teens going to mass and then them other ones already mentioned

Just a few useful phrases: "rélever du casse-tête" = to wreck one's head. "On entend souvent critiquer qch" = We often hear people criticise sth. "Compter pour du beurre"= to count for nothing....view answers
I'll have a think and get back to ya but the good thing about the type of phrases above is that you can use them to talk about almost anything. You can say:
'On entend souvent critiquer les examens blancs'. Ces détracteurs déclarent que ces examens comptent pour du beurre. Mais quand on passe les examens blancs, les notes qu'on recoit permettent a tous les étudiants de remettre l'ouvrage sur le métier pour l'améliorer avant le vrai examen.'
You'd have to breach into it to talk aboot it in the first place any way so mebbe start with something like... 'Le crises economique, c'est mal pour notre pays.' I ent the best at literal transla...view answers
I would guess you wouldnt need to talk about it, esp. in the oral as examiners arent allowed to go into iffy subjects. I.E. the crisis (incase person x knows someone who was laid off, etc.),...view answers
True, unless you open the door for them to ask something like immigration etc. The problem with the current crisis is that anything from looking for a job to going to college to going to a rugby match can be brought back to the economy so I would think it's an important topic to have a few sentences learned for anyway.
