Where did i go?

Well it seems i have been missing since February , my bad… xD. I completely disappeared of the face of the earth after my work experience because i started volunteering there at the weekend and that and the increasing amount of homework and study made me attempt many times to give up luxuries such as the internet and tv. I managed to stay away from my laptop for a couple of days but then i gave in again but then it kept overheating so i just decided to read a book or ten.

Enough with excuses. I’m back now for at least one final post which i could probably fill ten pages with if i was very detailed.  According to the site my last post was February 13th, which means i have to cover

  1. Work Experience at Limerick Animal Welfare
  2. Going to see Hamlet
  3. Geography Field Trip
  4. End of Year Tests
  5. Results of those above Tests

Work Experience

I have to say that the week i spent working at the Animal Sanctuary was probably the best week of my life. I enjoyed all aspects of  it so much that i nearly wanted to do a u-turn in my career path and become a vet.  The only bad thing about having my work experience there was that i wanted to bring home all the animals there, all the dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, goats and even the pigs. It was really weird being in a workplace that had nothing much to do with any of my career aspirations but i still gained a lot from it, i had gained a place to volunteer and to give something back to the world, i also found myself being more social than my normal self with people i hardly knew, saying that all of the staff and volunteers there where all very friendly. It was definitely a brilliant experience  which i suppose was the point of it all.

Going to see Hamlet

I feel like i must mention going to see Hamlet in Cork because i enjoyed it so much. I was amazed at how much i loved Hamlet as i loathed The Merchant of Venice. The play was excellent and it really made it enjoyable by the bit of comedy thrown in. The actors where amazing and really portrayed the characters as i thought them to be in my mind. The only negative about going to see this play was the fact that i was sitting behind a girl with really big hair. I was lucky to see the faces of the people on stage xD

Geography Field Trip

As part of our Geography project we had to head of to Clare to The Burren to carry out an investigation. It was an early start around 7 or thereabouts. That is early for me anyway and i was still late ( a usual habit of mine ). So a bus full of geography students headed of to The Burren and when we got there the sky went gray of course and drops of rain began to fall, Luckily the entire time it rained we were inside getting told what we were going to be doing . When we got to the site where we did the investigation the sun was even peaking out through the clouds. We got our work done quickly enough and had great fun laughing at everyone falling in to Grykes, after we made sure they were alright of course (not really).  There was a load of photos of people in Grykes for the yearbook next year anyway

End of Year Tests

I really want to skip this part and just forget all about them but i’ve already mentioned them so i suppose i’ll have to just carry on. These tests really confused me. I learned never to listen to any teachers hints because they just seem to do the opposite or something completely insane anyway. I was disgusted by the fact that there was no essay for English and i would say i probably wasted a lot of time just being mad about that fact. Irish went good, i had gotten 95% in my Oral so i knew i couldn’t fail unless i didn’t hand in my test. i answered all the questions as best as i could and was happy in the end. I refuse to talk about Chemistry. French was alright, i got a bit confused when  writing the essay and i missed my oral ( another incident of being late). Home Ec i thought i did fairly well in i thought i knew exactly what to say and wrote the appropriate amount for all the questions. Maths was fine until i got to the projects maths questions and confused myself and ended up writing help in the answer box xD . Geography went alright but i knew my diagrams were a disgrace so wasn’t expecting much from that. I did really bad on the LCVP written test but my Portfolio was good so i wasn’t that worried. What did worry me was the fact that i seemed to have forgotten all of my Junior Cert Business from last year xD

And of course The Results

English- 62% – C : I did deserve what i got with all of my procrastinating during the test and complaining to myself about the lack of an essay. I was disappointed with myself but that is what i got so i’ll have to get over it

Irish- 85% – A : I was really happy to see i had managed to get an A in something even it was Ordinary level. I thought this was the type of grade i would get for the effort i put in so i was really pleased with this.

Maths- 76%- B : This was actually a very good result for me. I did not think i would manage to get the B. I was think more about 62% or that, so i was happy with this.

Geography- 67%- C: This result was consitent with all of my class test results so i can’t really complain. If i had put a bit more effort into the diagrams i might of been able to get the B but i’ll live.

P.E: I said i better put it down as it came on the report card and i will just give you the comment that my teacher said : Satisfactory

French-69%-C: I have to say that i was not that disappointed by this because i missed my oral and know that with it i could of done much better and gotten the B, i’ll just have to remember to turn up for my actual oral!

Home Ec-51%-D: I was devastated when i saw this result. I thought i had at least managed a high C if not a B with my paper. I will be having a long look over this paper when i get back.

LCVP- Enterprise Education (written) – 62%- I expected lower than this i thought i might of failed to be honest so i was happy enough with that. Portfolio-75%- I have not finished my Diary of Work Experience so this was actually not that bad.

And Finally……

Chemistry-44%-D: What can i say… , I am so amazed that i passed this test,i couldn’t understand half the questions and for some reason forgot how to spell oxygen during the test but this i am really pleased with. My teacher said i Greatly Improved so that’s good news i suppose.

That is about it really, I went to France for a week in June and went to Paris and Disneyland which was a great laugh. I now know that i speak a nice amount of French, i just can’t write much of it xD .  I think i have the mention the fact that i’ve seen Harry Potter 10 times since Saturday. I’m not ashamed to say i’m a potterhead and i’m proud of the fact i stayed up with my friend all night to get in to Pottermore, which i did :D

I suppose i better say goodbye now and i’d like to say thanks to Patrick Barry for giving me the opportunity to do this for a year, i only now seem to really have any idea what i’m doing xD. Also Good Luck to Everyone with the Leaving Cert Results this week and to those getting the Junior Cert Results in September.
