I must say I’m wild sorry. About a week ago I promised that I’d have a post that night. Well for any of ye waiting (I hope there was a nice orderly line ) an update is here.

Since my last post I got through the big freeze, a trip to Wales, 4 days over Christmas in beautiful Donegal and those lovely Christmas tests. I was dreading these quite a bit and the tension only increased when I saw that Maths and Physics were together on one day. Not only that but it was Monday. Maths first on a Monday morning is not nice and even worse………I was only getting in from Wales at 6pm on the Sunday after the Munster game. Thankfully the tests wern’t as bad as the game and I got a bit of a surprise when the results came in the post. Although there was not one A on the page, there was the equivalent of 475 points. Delighteddddddd

Both the college courses I’m looking at would be fairly accessable with those points if I came out with them in August 2012. As for college, I’ve been doing a bit of reading up on different things. One big draw is Journalism in DCU or UL. If anyone has any expierence on those courses or any info……do tell. Mabye it’s destiny because only last week I got picked to become part of the editorial team of UCC’s CONNECT magazine. All those attending the spring open day in April will get a mag so any mistakes in it i’ll apologise on here

The other college course drawing a bit of attention on my part is Elec Eng in UCC. It is being pushed big time at the minute so mabye I’m just being sucked in hahahaha. The National Elec Eng quiz was on today all over the country and amazingly my team managed to win both the UCC round and in the process also became All Ireland Champions. A Shock….Yes. Expected….Nooo. We were the very first 5th years ever to win it. Wow.

Back in school everything is pressing ahead full steam. In Physics we’re gone onto Waves, We’re nearly finshed Hamlet and our Irish novel Tig Na Tit Orm (Which we now only do 9 chapters of ) is nearly done. Regional Geography is a doddle really and we’re hitting projectiles in Applied Maths in our after school class.

I guess thats it for now. I’ll try and keep these updates  a bit more often if possible.

I would like to start this post and say just how much I LOVE school. How much I adore the complexities oh HL Maths, is aoibhinn liom an gcursa Gaeilge nua, this too too sullied English would melt and resolve itself into a deep seeded love.

Thank god I’ve that sarcasm out of the system anyway. I’m now just over a month into 5th year and by god how things have changed. I spent last year organizing paint-balling trips and visiting the elderly. This year though it differentiation, aiste’s and Hamlet. But that’s just the core subjects. The one’s I grown to despise over 4 long years although I seem to have rekindled my joy for the English language rather surprisingly. I think that came from a summer spent actually writing a book. Yup. I am indeed an author. Well…..Co-author and……….. the book’s not quite done yet. But it looks good and it’s all about SHARE the Cork charity. Sorry for the cheap plug. lol.

This year I’ve also started to study a lot more than I ever did before. I adore the serenity of the City library and I’ve found myself inside there at least 4 days a week for about 3 hours each!!!! I didn’t touch those levels before the Junior Cert. I guess the points to head off to UL or DCU or Cardiff or wherever seem to be a prize worth the effort.

Applied Maths.

All of these are (being attempted) at Higher level! :-0. I know. I made these choices last year when I was hell bent on being an engineer. That’s sort of out the window at this stage but whats chosen is chosen and that’s the end of that.

I hope this becomes a real intro post and I’ll keep ye all posted from The Peoples Republic as often as possible.

I’d like to welcome you all into what I hope is going to become my brand new online home for the next 2 years. My name is Cian and I’m just after taking the very few tentative steps on that path to the Leaving Cert with the first two weeks of Fifth Year now under my belt. Although the road may be long, quite difficult, challenging and full of pitfalls, I honestly can’t wait to step up and face every challenge thrown at me with the goal of that morning in August 2012 when I’ll open the result sheet.

As you may have already guessed I am forever an optimist, and you know what, I love it. So sit back, whip off the shoes and enjoy the ride as by god it might make some properly good viewing.

BTW, I’d like to end my first post here by thanking the moderators here at AllHonours.com for giving me this small piece of web real estate to pass on my ramblings and words of wisdom.

Also, I’d like to congratulate all the students around the country who got they’re Junior Cert results. Lads, enjoy tomorrow night sensibly and make the most out of TY because it’s some step up in Fifth year.
