Ok i know this is an awkward time to be posting questions with all the predictions for the LC flying around the mass cyberspace, but im just wondering what the story would be with doing LC Accounting myself at home?.
I would get grinds reivision books books ect.
Need it for points so would probably be looking for a B1 Higher Level?

    Is it possible guys?..

Thanks for replies in advance (if there is any)

Oh PS. Got a B in Higher Level Business Studies Took it up October of 3rd year!

    Thanks guys

business for junior cert was pretty easy. accounting is a tough leaving cert subject and it is difficult to get a b1 in. the stuff is hard to learn. i dont think anyone would be able to get a b1 in it at this stage of the exams. yet it is up to you

yeah I say you would no bother if you like accounting and have an interest in it, my friend did Economics as an extra subject with revision books and got a B as far as i can remember so if you get the revision books and get grinds then I think you could def get that grade..good luck

[b] Thanks! Do you do Accounting?..

This year is the 1st time Accounting hasn't been offered as a subject for LC in my school!

Is it true that 21% of people get A's every year??

    Thanks guys for replies.

you'd have to be very good at maths and that type of subject

Are the maths required not simple?. Addition, subtraction, percentages on dividends, depreciation?.

And i am doing Business Studies. so my standard of Business wouldnt be bad at all!.

Why are your friends repeating Andrew? Was it because of lack of points because of a bad result in Accountancy? more replies greatly welcomed thanks!

[b] Just got Revise Wise Accounting LC HL- Martina Rodgers an hour ago.

By looking at the Past exam papers i realised something.

If the exam is marked out of 400 Marks, Q.1 Is worth 120, Final Accounts with Some Changes Comes Up Every Year.
Also Q. 3,4,5 Interepation Of Accounts (ratios) appear every year worth another 100 marks.

So if i went to grinds and worked over the summer on Interepation Of Accounts and Final Accounts with Ratios that would mean i could have

    220/400 in the Accounting Exam

Which is equal to 55% = C3 in Higher Level

    Is Accounting really that predictable?

Thanks for replies, yeah i read it on a supplement that came with the Irish Independent last year. It said that 21 % achieve an A grade in HL Accouting..
If i learned Final Accounts with changes in Manufacturing and Sole Trader and Company and Interepation Accounts (reatios) myself over the summer would i be heading in the right direction to a Higher Level B1 in June 2012? Sounds like a long time away i know

Also the subjects im doing would not be that difficult or time restricting example
    English French Music Business Geography..
Not Doing Higher Level Maths or Irish
Also doing LCVP so i think i would have lots of time to put into the Accounting.

Dont do it, my friend tried to do it in 5th year, and he dropped it last year cuz it got too difficult for him, dooont do it... ITS HARDDDD
and for getting the 220/400, you'd have to get full marks, and getting full marks in the ratios is impossible.
