hey guys im a repeat this year moved to limerick to do it all over again!
all my friends are acting all weird around me and i feel very left out when there off talking about how great college is..and they're insisting ive changed..the cheek! and the work load is putting me under serious pressure as ive take up 2 new subjects!parents wont listen they say its my own fault im repeating in the first place..which i know it is but sheesh they dont need to rub my nose in it!
im desperate for some advice..or some thing i dunno

im repeating too. i feel ur pain!!
my friends drive me mental!! they tell me to study..why should i listen to them just because they're in college.. 
they really dont know wht its like! everytime im talking to them they just rub i5t in how savage college is and i get so furious! so now im not bothering to talk to any of them.. yea like i'll text them now and again and im happy for them but i really dont need to feel lik crap, they are meant to be friends the whol time.. its so hard to know what to do cos ya dont want to lose your old friends..

The important thing to remember is that it will all be over very soon!
Yeah the pressure's immense but you will get through it! It's all about the attitude you have towards it that makes it stressful. What new subjects have you taken up anyway?
Friends in college can laugh about the LC cuz it doesn't matter to them anymore but to us, it still does. At least, this time around you have a very good chance of getting that course that you didn't get the first time. I would def rather be repeating than stuck in a course I didn't really want in the first place.

yeah i took up ag science and business and dropped pass maths and french! im happy with them now i must say but its a lot of work especially business...id know a lot of the ag anyway..im a farmin' girl
ive had a very positive attitude towards the whole thing up untll now really but its tough to be so darn perky all the time!
i also have a few friends at home that are doing the LC this year aswel and even they wont talk about school with me! i swear out of all my friends doing the lc this year only 1 text to see how my mocks went..and i rang everyone of them to wish them good luck..people are so self-centered honestly!
worst ever is when people who you havnt seen in a while or who dont know what ur up to ask..."so what are you doing in college?hows it goin for ya?"..and your all like "oh well um..im actually repeating the leaving cert."<awkward silence>they say"oh right ok!" when really they're thinkin "lousaaaay on her!"

Yeah we all have those moments of what is the point?!! but I think if I didn't make myself think about the positives I would actually have a breakdown which ,one of my friends repeating with me thinks, is waiting to happen!
But anyhoo, when you go to college in Sept you'll meet so many knew people that those friends who never bothered to text ya won't matter.Posted 6 months ago # -

hey i'm a repeat as well i know exactly how it is! they tell you your not the same person you never have time for them you never listen etc etc. repeating is possibly the hardest thing i have ever done but like were almost there now were in the last run of things, college isnt all that great they have work and exams to do too dont forget that! i took up business too! were almost there dont let it get you down!

wht really irritates me though is when the teachers say 'you should know this, this is your third year doing it!' if i knew it i wouldnt be repeating!! roll on the 23rd june!!

Yeah that has to be the most worrying, because everyone always says to me "sure you're grand, you've done it before" and I'm thinking: I don't remember any of this ...
