    Hi all.
I've been studying "September 1913","Easter 1916","Sailing to Byzantium","An Acre of Grass","The Lake Isles of Inisfree" and "The Wild Swans at Coole".Problem is I despise the later;and i find the lines totally unmemorable and frankly dismally boring. So i've decided to study a different poem to replace it.In essays we've been concentrating on aspects of the poet's work;for Yeats I've been using politics, old age/time,desire to escape from modern life and his techniques/imagery.I've had a look at "The Second Coming" (now THAT'S a poem!) and I've been considering using that poem instead of the auld swans.I just wanted to ask, what aspects/themes should i use with "The Second Coming",along with the poems I've already studied? Or is there another good Yeats poem to study, that would present a useful theme to write about? Thanks in advance

My favourite Yeats poem is Ballad of Moll Maggee or also the poem He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven!

These are some things to think about with the Second Coming:

the personal perspective - how this poem relates to Yeats himself
the themes covered - in particular, this poem deals with Yeats' interest/ concern with religion
look at the imagery in the poem and how he uses this to convey his message
think about the poem from a political perspective
