Is there anywhere that I can get the Irish poems and stories (E.g. An Bhean Óg, Jack) on the Leaving Cert course in English? I feel it would be easier to understand the techniques and stuff used if I actually knew what was being said.

I've been searching the web and nothing! I haven't heard of any websites or anything like that either- sorry! Best thing to do is ask your teacher to dedicate a class to it - hopefully they will! If you do find anything let us know will ya?

What would be better is that if the teacher puts it into simple Irish - translating directly from English to Irish can change the meanings of the sentences. I have the poems summarised in simple Irish.

http://lcirish.wordpress.com/filiocht-ardlebheil/ has the prois and poetry summarised in simple enough Irish.

http://www.theleavingcert.com/irish-poems-shortened/ has the poems in short simple Irish as well.

http://www.skoool.ie/examcentre_senior.asp?id=2092 is worth a look as well!
