I dont have a clue how to write an art history essay could somebody please help me! my teacher is working off notes and the less stress more sucess book but we havnt done any essays and im in 6th year now and seriously worried! how do i go about it ive tried googling different bits and pieces but there is nothing relevent to the Leaving cert exam! anybody know where i could look at some sample answers or even how i should structure the essays? should i put in illustrations? how many? how long should the essay be? is it like an english essay? please please please help me!!

Hi, Dont know if this will be any help but this is what our teacher has told us.
Intro - Write about the artist, sculpture blabla. Just some info about him in general
Painting 1 - Some info about it. Where its painted, For who.
Any features like perspective etc
Give some info about colour, Shading Etc
Then you draw the picture just a rough sketch and label it and title itPainting 2 - you do the same
Conclusion - you sum up what you'v just told them. He was a great painter, bla bla bla !
