I'm doing 12 subjects for my Junior Cert I did have a timetable made, but it was like I would study each subject for 25 mins but I don't think thats really good.
Instead, I have made out for each subject, a list of all chapters. I have made it so I study 3 chapters each week for most subjects. And then at the weekends I'm going to try do some exam papers. The longest time is 10 weeks.
Is this ok? What else should I do? I'm aiming for 12 A's (pressure from family & friends
    Thanks!

Yeah, that is the way I would study as well, doing it chapter by chapter. In a lot of subjects, there are questions at the end of each chapter, so do these verbally or written and go back to see if they are correct. As you go through the chapters, then make notes on a seperate sheets or cards, so that when it comes to exam time, you can flick through those notes instead of going back through the chapters again.

The most important thing is to know your exam papers inside out, know the techniques to answer each question, how long you have to do each questions, but you can make that out closer to the pres!

that seems like a good way of doing it and i am doing something similar at the mo (leaving cert)
    but
its only the junior cert!! dont aim for 12a's because you feel you have to cos about week after getting the results back noone is going to know or care what you got. And having brilliant results in the jc is no realy benefit. plus its only going to raise your family and friends expectations for the leaving cert which is pressure you really dont need! if i were you i cut down on the hours and just relax!!!
put the time into things like maths and languages because if u want to do higher level in those in the LC you need a good grade in the JC

longfordman, comments like "junior cert is a waste of life" are no helpful in anyway. So please refrain from commenting like that! Also that its only the junior cert isn't great either!

Lucy needs to focus on the task at hand, her JC before even contemplating her LC. At this moment in time, it is the most important exam she has before her. Doing well at the JC can help with the LC syllabus, but as longfordman said, don't let other people pressurise you. A lot of people can put pressure on themselves, but you need to want to do well for yourself number 1. the Junior cert is the first time a student experiences a state exam, and it is important.

The JC is an essential exam because it gives you expierience in doing state exams, but weather u get 12A's or 3 in the end really does not matter.
Theres obviously no point in worrying about the LC at this stage and theres no point in treating the JC like the LC either because the JC is an exam where actually doing the exam itself is more important than the results of the exam.
Its for expierience for the LC, and all the emphisis shouldnt be on studying in 3rd year and coming out with twelve A's beacause while its good to get good results in the JC, you shouldnt sacrafice having a life for great results.

Thank you! And especially to Rebel Girl! Its really important in my school because if you don't get an A you don't get Honours and theres no way of changing. And plus, my school has a fairly high rate of all A's (like 5 or 6 people each year). And (not meaning to like boast or anything) but my friends regard me of smart and they always say I'm going to get all A's.
I don't mind the pressure though, its something that I want to do
    Thanks everyone!

Longford man your are so fricking cool,i'm from longford....:D

Em why 12 A's?If i was you i would concentrate on my core subjects and subjects that i wish to keep on.Whats the point in getting an A in art for the jc when your not doing it for the leaving? Is it really worth it when you could be spending more time studying your key subjects.Your study timetable sounds just fine but just remember to eat properly and exercise and still have a bit of a social life. All work and no play makes jack a dull boy.

Cucumber, why fail? Just because you don't want I what I want doesn't mean you have to put me down.
And I don't even do art, I do practical subjects! And I actually do have a life!

Lucy I'm not putting you down and I'm not saying you don't have a life I'm just saying that is all this pressure actually necessary?Students who usually do extremely well in the junior end up doing much worse in the leaving. Honestly 12 A's in higher level, why? No one is ever going to ask you for your junior cert results. You don't have to take my advice, what you do is your own business.
Extra-curricular activities and experience can be just as important as what you do in school.
If your planning on get them results I don't see how you will have much time for that which is really sad because looking back now(i'm in college),it was all the stuff i did outside school which really helped doing the leaving and made me a more confident out going person.

    And i don't want you to tell me your on a basketball,rugby,soccer,equestrian and squash team too because then I'll know your just BSing {mod edit: language }

Not meaning to start anything here (sorry if I was a bit harsh/w/e) but its what I want. If you don't get an A, you don't get to do honours. And my science teacher said JC results are asked for some jobs
I do music 3 times a week, dance twice a week and athletics once a week. It all adds up aswell as living 35 minutes from my school. Doesn't seem like that much (I used to do more 8O) but yeh, it builds my confidence.
But yeh, its what I want really. I'm one of those people who, even if I do well, if I don't get what I aimed for or wanted, I'm really disappointed.
